Trust starts with understanding what a product actually does. Here’s the technology behind this Hairlens AI demonstration—and what still needs to be built.

How it works
From a photo to a thoughtful preview.
01
Check the file. Keep it local.
The browser checks the file format, size, signature, and whether the image can be decoded. It accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP up to 10 MB and 30 million pixels. The demo does not perform clinical image-quality assessment.
File → validation → local object URL
02
Explore an interface, not a diagnosis.
The report is a fixed fixture. It is not calculated from the photograph or questionnaire answers. No segmentation model, hair-counting model, ingredient-recognition service, or live language model runs in this website.
Deterministic sample → clearly labeled result
03
Leave no saved photo behind.
Answers and selected photos live in memory. Replacing or removing a photo revokes its temporary object URL. Restarting, refreshing, or leaving the page clears the demonstration session.
Remove / restart / leave → clear local media
What a live product would need
Before this concept becomes a live service: validated models, secure authentication, a consent and retention policy, monitored service endpoints, abuse safeguards, and independent privacy and accessibility review.
Every HairLens AI guide is general education written by the HairLens AI Editorial team and linked to public health and dermatology sources. Guides explain what an observation can and cannot tell you; they do not diagnose conditions or replace a dermatologist or doctor.
